With huge volumes of transactional data at their fingertips, The UK’s largest chemist wanted to be able to use this data intelligently to influence the buying, sales and marketing process.

The challenge

The UK’s largest chemist wanted to be able to make the most of their sales data. To do this they needed to convert raw data into a sophisticated on-line, interactive and user-friendly reporting tool to allow for valuable analysis. This key data would not only influence the buying, sales and marketing process, it would also be provided to key suppliers as a paid for service.

Our approach

We created a database that could deliver analytics including store metrics, customer profiles, cross purchasing, basket analysis and new purchase analysis. Our solution included the development of analysis reports within QlikView – a tool that extracts information locked up in data and presents it back in a bespoke format to an end user. We also provided hotline support for all users of the database.

The results

The UK’s largest chemist are now able to analyse their 2.6 billion transactions with ease. The reports are updated weekly and offer bespoke supplier online views for detailed sales insight in seconds. In fact, the tool has been so successful that it’s also been rolled out at Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal and more.
